A trip to Thien Hou Temple

Although we had came back to UM, but most of us are still in the Chinese New Year mood. We decided to go to the Thien Hou Temple last night as we have nothing much to do in the hostel. The traffic near the temple was really jam and we decided to park our car at the bottom of the hill and walk all the way up to the temple.
It is a really nice place to visit during chinese new year. The decorated the temple so well. In Thien Hou temple, you really have the "Chinese New Year mood". Haha!

Sorry la. Although it is an Ox year, but i still like this mouse really much. Haha! Among 5 of us, I am the only 1 born in the year of mice.
When you step up to the level 2 in the temple, you see lots of red lantern.

So far, I had been few temples which decorates the temple very nice during chinese new year festival. Thien Hou temple in KL, Dong Chan Shi in Jenjarum, and Kek Lok Si in Penang. If you happen to be nearby any of these temple, go and visit at night time and sure you will get lots of nice photos. Hehe!

After all, we manage to go for a pray! hehe! Pray for a better year.. hehe! Probably this is what we call as.. 临时抱佛脚。。。haha!

Chinese Niu Year

Time passed really fast. We had come to the end of second day of Chinese New Year 2009. This year is an Ox year and we do hope that these ox year will bring great fortune to us.
Spending the past 2 days with lots of gathering. Perhaps, Chinese New Year is one of the most pleassure time for any gathering that we wish to have. This included a gathering with friends which we had never met for years. Not only that, it is also a great chance for all the family members and relatives to be gather under one roof. For me, Chinese New Year is no longer an event for Angpow collection. It had become an important event for us to stay connected with my friends and relatives no matter how far we were distributed throughout the nation/world.
OF course, we will normally spend time for gathering with secondary school mates. This year, i also manage to spend some time for gathering of my primary schoolmate and few friends from Buddhist camp PBHP few years ago. It's tiring but something enjoyable. Happy to see all of them. Kind of have a feeling that they are de-stress for me.. haha! Anyway, may all of my family members, relatives, friends that i know, friends that i might know, and friends that i will never know in life to stay healthy and happy... =) Happy Niu Year ya.. Moo....

Postgraduate Talk in 6th college

Just came back from a postgraduate talk in 6th college. This year they had invited Prof Patrick Tan and Prof Lee Way Seah. Overall, i would say that it is a great talk.

Prof Patrick was really informative and gave us a lot of information regarding the future career. However, what was really inspiring was to ask us enjoy the journey instead of rushing to be a specialist. Being good to the nurses are good as they will ended up be our guardians when we are Houseman.

Prof Lee who is our UM seniors, had give an overall picture for the path to be a specialist especially becoming a paediatrician. With his inspiring and creative way of presentation, the talk became more interesting.

Both of them had delivered the same message to us, which is "GO SLOW, AND ENJOY.." After the talk, really felt stress up because we are a step clearer to our future career. It is another long running journey for us. Passing MBBS is not the end, but it is a starts for a new journey.. No matter how tough is the work, the most important is to enjoy the journey..

Disappointment..

As we are nearer to exam, I felt more stress. Stress not only due to the exam, but also the responsibility that we are going to bear in the future. Becoming a doctor is not an easy work. But, this has been what i am looking forward. I think a great responsiblity in handling patients is necessary or basic requirement in this career. Some how, this will become a great challenge for everyone in order to conduct a good practice.
2 years ago, the dean of faculty had told me how much UM medical students nowadays are lacking in their responsibility and I just ignore it. But, i started to understand what he said at this point of time. It has been quite sad when i look around and notice quite a number of students who always take things for granted and never volunteer to take up responsibilities.
Yesterday, an idiot had just push all her responsibility to me and ended up i was scolded for no reason because she didn't do her work properly. It is a norm in my group for pre-call student to be in-charge in blood taking for patients in that particular wards after the morning chart rounds. Any urgent blood will be taken by the post-call students. Who knows, this post-call idiot who didn't attend her call the day before and ended up rushing for her patient reviews before chart round did not take an urgent blood for that day. The doctor had asked her to do so and she just ignore it until 10 minutes later when the ward called me (pre-call) and i promise to rush in within 10 minutes. When i arrived, the "GREAT MO" scolded me straight away for something that i don't know.
With that, I throw my temper towards the idiot and she asked me: "Why do you scold me? You should scold another post-call student (who went to cover the whole ward the day before)." I am so shock!!! WOW.. how can she push all the things to others like that? She don't have any sense of responsibilities at all? Wonder how people can work in a team with her in the future.
Responsibility is not an uncommon issue in my badge. No one want to pick up responsibility to be a leader is so so so common. Even though everyone had agreed to do rotation and each one become leader for at least 1 posting, there are still peoples who always tried to sneak away from this responsibility. Even if you had pointed them out, they will still give tonnes of nonsense reasons or manipulate others so that he/she can sneaked away. Most important is in the end of the days, most of them makes the most comments regarding how BAD the leader was.
I really hope that no one will carry this attitude further in their career. Not only in medical profession, but others as well. We are adult enough to make wise decision and I am sure we are adult enought to carry the responsibility that we should have.

A new START for A new YEAR

Every one like that say: It is a new year, let's hope for a better year. Well, I would say that this is a very optimistic way of thinking and it is really good. We must always live with hope, rite? If not, will be ended up as HOPELESS person. Haha!
2009, a brand new year, with a brand new hope and lots of plans, and some on-going changes in my life. First, have to finish my MBBS exam and graduate as a doctor. Then, have to live time to fullness. Appreciate every moment that i can spend with my family and friends. And also hope that I can try to do something for the benefits of Teluk Intan community or the community within my service hospital. Of course, I really hope that I can become active in PBHB and Tang Soo Do again.
Anyway, the most important things that I wish for, is WORLD PEACE!!! It is such a painful feelings to see the changes in the world. It is painful to see the War, Terroristism, Criminals, Environment Pollutions. How many years left we can keep on hoping if there is no WORLD?
A new Year of 2009. I wish it could be a new START of every one in the world. Happy New Year, My Friends!!!
