Foots..

Working in orthopaedic department as a HO now. Basically, we are dealing with quite a lot of fractures and also diabetic foot. Let me talk a little bit more about this diabetic foot today.
Basically, diabetes patient has to take good care of their sugar level. This can actually delay the progression of developing multiple complications of diabetes. One of the known complication is diabetic foot. Basically, the foot doesn't have the ability to recover even with a small wound/crack. had been seeing quite a few of patients with diabetic foot for the past few weeks.
Ended up, the foot might need to be amputated. It is sad to say that, we see quite a lot of youngster nowadays that ended up having the toes being amputated due to diabetes. Somehow, i think that there is some problem with our lifestyle which causing the diabetes to occur in a younger age group nowadays. Come on, if i am the patient, i don't want my toes to be amputated at the age of 30's.
For those elder age-group, some of them are really lacking in knowledge regarding hygiene. They seems to never take good care of themselves even though they are in hospital. They look so untidy and unkempt even though they just stay in the ward.
Basically, diabetes patient do adviced to take good care of their foot through a proper foot care method. For example, wash foot everyday and dry it with towel. At the same time, inspect the leg for any wounds or injuries. Guest this should be learn properly so that they will appreciate the pleassure legs.
Prevention is always better than cure. I do believe a change in our lifestyle might be required to prevent us from getting this disease in a young age group. Together we should change our lifestyle into a healthier lifestyle in order to prevent this disease.
